Following an enviable sheepdog trials career, Glen's in retirement now.

Before he came to us on 11th January 2003, Glen had won Nursery trials with his previous owner.

Once the initial settling in period was over, Glen and Andy were successful in quite a number of trials and the pair won the Moreton Morrel Novice (Feb 2004) & Stoke Bliss Farmers Championships.

Glen loves other dogs and puppies. These are not his but they're just as welcome.

Glen's finest hour was at a large and very popular open sheepdog trial near Malvern (September 2003 - Worcestershire UK). Running as a Novice at around 10 am, he went into first place overall and led the field by a big margin .

He held 1st place all day but in the evening he was pushed into 4th place in the open class by some late-arriving international competitors.

Poor Glen had to "make do" with 1st in the Novice Class and 4th in the Open that day.

Mr Style! When Glen was penning at sheepdog trials, the crowd would go quiet.

Sheepdog Work

Glen's working style and precision control of sheep was superb.

When working, he knew exactly how much pressure to put the sheep, never stressing them. He had an admirable outrun and could confidently gathering from 500 mtrs without a problem.

His driving was probably his greatest skill, but he also excelled at penning and shedding.

When working, Glen knew how much power was required at exactly the right time.

Sheepdog Training

At home, Glen's a pleasure to have around.

He's utterly trustworthy and probably best described as "a perfect gentleman".

In the five years he's been here, we have not seen him show the slightest sign of aggression - other than a growl to remind another dog that he's not keen to share his dinner!

Now that he's retired, Glen's only duty is as stud dog, although recently, he's developed a passion for chewing bones, digging holes, playing with puppies or toys and searching (in vain) for rabbits!

Glen is bred from Scottish Team Member Davidston Cap 201111 (Mary Caul) and out of Gael 192892 (NG McEwan).

Since his retirement, Glen takes his stud duties very seriously!
